Just Write Books… Where books are not too hard and not too easy.

They are Just Write!

The idea for Just Write Books was inspired by my own children. I have one child who struggles with remembering to write letters properly and who just doesn’t like to write. I found that throughout our time together that this child responded well to things that looked fun. This child was the inspiration for Just Write- Book 3. I wanted a book that was full of colorful images to help get my child excited about writing. I needed a book that was like a primary journal yet with wide-ruled lines as those primary lines had been perfected yet this child still wasn’t ready for wide-ruled lines. Writing on primary lines can be tiring as you are writing more since the letters are larger. I couldn’t find this unicorn… so I made it myself.

Currently, there are two series within Just Write Book collection.

I implement family style learning and like to have things that look similar. I feel like it makes things go more smoothly while homeschooling 4 children. However, I wanted books that supported each of my children along their writing journey. I took this idea for a journal (Just Write- Book 3) and spanned it down and up the writing continuum to ensure that all my children were able to have one and have a journal to grow into.

I have used these journals for so many things within our homeschool… from writing prompts to copywork- It holds it all. That is one of the benefits to having their writing all in one book- It keeps it all together. In addition, I can see how they have grown over the year. I’m absolutely in love with these books as are my children. I am looking forward to making another themed one for next year!

My children are continuously asking me how to spell things while they are writing. It can be overwhelming and exhausting when you have 4 children asking you for help especially when they have to be told how to spell something letter by letter…. yikes! Since the journals have been so well received by both my children and parents, I wanted to make a spelling resource to compliment the journals to help my children be more independent.

I liked the idea of the books looking similar yet differentiated to meet each child’s needs. I took the concept of my Just Write Journals and applied it to a fill-in word book. I named it My Words, My Way since it would contain each child’s personal words and written in a book that meets their need… hence “My Words- My Way”.

I feel like a dictionary is a little overwhelming at the moment especially when you are working on learning to spell. I don’t want my kids asking “Alexia” or “Siri” how to spell a word. However, I want them to be independent. I thought long and hard on what kind of book would benefit my children the most and how to get them to be able to use it independently. I have shown both sets of books to my homeschool group moms. While they loved the journals- they were blown away by the concept and execution of the My Words, My Way books!

I’m excited to be able to offer this collection of books to fellow parents as they have helped my children a lot. I put a lot of pride into the products I offer because I want parents to know that when I attach my name to something that it is good quality. I can’t wait to see where this goes!
